Nissan; a 90 year history

In a nondescript warehouse just outside Tokyo, Japan lies a treasure house of Nissan/Datsun History.

The Nissan Heritage Museum is home to more than 450 vehicles, the earliest being the Datsun Phaeton, first released in 1938, and the Datsun 14 Roadster, released in 1935.

The Museum opened in 2013 and regurlarly sees more than 15,000 visitors each year.

Other notable exhibits include the original Skyline, Bluebird and Sunny series of Nissan Vehicles.

Nissan has come a long way since its inception in 1928. Today producing over 5.5 million cars each year.

Opening their first plant in Australia in 1972, Nissan produced cars in country for over 20 years. Recently, the Dandenong South Casting Plant in Victoria, won a series of contracts to manufacture parts for the new Nissan Leaf, due for release in Australia before June of 2019

Today, Nissan is part of the Renault-Nissan Alliance, formed in 1999, and is the world’s fourth largest automotive group.
