The Nissan Qashqai- a sure winner.

August 1, 2018

Replacing the Nissan Dualis in 2014, the Nissan Qashqai and its subsequent Models have retained their solid grounding in the compact SUV market, holding strong against tough competitors such as the Mazda CX-3, Honda CR-V and the Hyundai Kona.

The MY18 model has ditched the Diesel options and undergone a slight face-lift to continue its strong attraction in the market. Offering three separate models, going from the Nissan Qashqai ST to the top level Qashqai TI, the Nissan SUV has plenty of choice for all.

The base model, the Qashqai ST, is the only model in the range offering Manual, the manual model starts at $26,490. Moving up to $27,990 for the ST Auto Model.

All models of the Qashqai include as standard; Bluetooth Multimedia, Rear Reversing Camera and Emergency Brake System.

Moving into the ST-L brings a little more sophistication to the game, with additional features such as a 360 Degree Around View Monitor, SatNav, and heated partial-leather front seats. This next level up is likely to set you back around $32,990 before any additions such as premium color choices, or dealer accessories.

Luxury Models

The N-TEC and TI are the Qashqai’s top-notch models, the TI being the most recent release. Both offer additional features like a panoramic glass roof, Park Assist and a Dual Climate Zone. The TI goes one step further, boasting Premium Nappa Leather seats and Intelligent Lane Intervention. These two go for $35,990 and $38,990 respectively.

Nissans Service Certainty

Nissan’s Capped Priced Servicing Scheme (which hasn’t increased this year from last) is included standard. Averaged out over a year, it is likely to set you back an average of $307 over its first 12 services.

Furthermore, the Qashqai performs solidly in its resale value, historically expecting around 60% after the first 3 years.

Overall, Nissan’s best-selling vehicle, the Qashqai maintains its solid reputation as a reliable and well-performing compact SUV. The Qashqai offers the best ANCAP safety rating in its class, and enough boot space to get you home comfortably from a mid-life-crisis IKEA trip. Nissan has definitely proven its ability to pack punch and value into one high performance SUV.
