What benefit does this have to a new car?

When you collect your Honda vehicle, you expect it to be cleaned and ready, this however does not mean it has been sanitised. Honda’s Genuine Antimicrobial Shield is designed to bond to any surface it comes into contact with and uses a water-based bonded coating, which kills and protects and actually pierces cells. Furthermore, It has been proven to be 99.8% active even after 100 washes, so you can be reassured that the treatment will continue to work long after it has been applied, removing harmful bacteria and bad odours.

Why do I need to sanitise my air conditioning unit?

Our Genuine Antimicrobial Shield sanitises the air conditioning system, a major source of bacteria inside your car. When the air conditioner is run regularly, water passes through the system and condensation forms on the evaporator core. When the A/C stops running the water heats up and provides the perfect breeding ground for bacteria to grow. Whilst you are driving with the air conditioner on, the odour created by active bacteria within the evaporator core, enters the cabin through the air vents creating a bad odour and an unhygienic environment.

Is this treatment safe for babies/children?

Yes, the Genuine Antimicrobial shield has been developed to avoid any adverse reactions when used around children, pets and adults. Unlike traditional sanitisers that kill bacteria by poison or high levels of alcohol, Honda’s Antimicrobial Shield uses a water-based bonded coating and has a toxicity rating similar to that of Vitamin C.
