May 20, 2021

A total of K4, 000.00 worth of trophies and medals were presented to the Vanagi community at the Ela Motors Badili showroom in Port Moresby on Tuesday 23rd February 2021.

As part of its social contribution to support the welfare of the Vanagi people, Ela Motors provided these items as a sponsorship through its Cooperate Social Responsibility Assistance Program.
Chief Executive Officer Mitsuyoshi Okutsu was delighted to hand over the items to the community chairperson Walo Keto.
Mr. Okutsu acknowledged the Vanagi community as a very special and important neighbor to the business at Badili and urged both parties to take the opportunity to create a resilient bond to prosper together.

The primary objective of the Aloha Koroli Association is to help prevent unemployed youths from getting involved in criminal activities, drugs and alcohol abuse.

The Association had taken the initiative to introduce the sporting activities purposely to engage their youths’ and eventually bring about a change to their mindset and personal conduct within the community.

The Association’s chairperson Paul Harou, stated that the sponsorship was a successful result of an understanding that was reached back in 2017 when Ela Motors first sponsored the group and advised for it to be formally registered with the Investment Promotion Authority prior to further sponsorships occurring in future.

This year, the registered Association considered it a privilege to receive this sponsorship assistance from Ela Motors with community members present to witness the ceremony. He stated that the trophies and medals would be awarded to the winners of the Aloha Koroli Canoe Race season which will commence at end of February.

Community chairperson Walo Keto extended his gratitude to the Chief Executive Officer, managers and staff of Ela Motors for the support, “thank you Ela Motors for being the first company to give us this assistance.”
