The Track-Focused CBR1000RR-R SP

June 29, 2021

The track-focused, yet street-legal CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is the top-spec performance supersport bike Honda has ever built under the CBR banner.

Offering a degree of race performance and refinement unlike anything Honda has released before, the CBR1000RR-R is a bike all Honda thrill-seekers must experience. So what makes this such an impressive, liter supersport?

Looking at that power-plant, the all-new bore and stroke (81mm x 48.5mm) are the same as Honda’s MotoGP Champion RC213V race bike. Honda has splashed no expense, developing a new short-stroke, inline-four motor that claims to produce 189hp @12,000 rpm and 83 ft lbs of torque @11,000 rpm. A more top-end focused power delivery aims to rival that of other 1000cc superbikes from the likes of Yamaha, BMW, and Kawasaki.

Technology is rather sophisticated, equipped with a large full colour TFT meter displaying the in-depth riding customisations and modes. As you’d expect, owners will be able to adjust ABS, traction control, riding modes, and many other specifications to best suit their riding style. Apart from the technical features, the dash also shows a fuel gauge, speedometer, and tacho for street riding.

 CBR1000RR-R SP Track Technology:

  • Throttle By Wire
  • Honda Selectable Torque Control
  • Quick-Shifter
  • Smart Key
  • Six-axis Interial Measurement Unit (IMU)

Available in two colours, Grand Prix Red, or Matte Pearl Morion Black, the 2021 CBR1000RR-R SP is a stunning example of what a top-spec supersport looks like. The aggressive curves, sharp finishes, and an aerodynamic focus on the fairing make the bike look stunning at all angles. Unlike other manufactures, Honda has integrated the winglets into the design of the bike beautifully. It truly transforms the look of the front end of the bike.
