Making the Africa Twin lighter is the high-tech, lightweight lithium-ion battery. Compared to other conventional batteries, that are notoriously heaviler, the lithium-ion battery holds charge for approximately four times longer, and its shelf life is 1.6 times longer.
The 1084cc liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine is narrow and delivers torque everywhere from idle to redline. A unique twin air-intake design helps push clean air into the engine, using two vertical filtration elements
The standard Africa Twin features a conventional six-speed manual gearbox with a handlebar-mounted clutch lever. It’s a proven, tough design that’s a little bit lighter, too. The new 6.5” touch panel LCD Multi-Information Display connects you to your Africa Twin like never before. Seamlessly integrating apple car play that is compatible with an Iphone, it means you can access Apple Maps, Music and other services easily from the touch panel on the Africa Twin.
Handling is improved with long-travel front suspension. The inverted Showa forks is a fully adjustable set WP, with huge 45mm tubes and 9.1 inches of travel. (The most front front end travel in the segment)
