Firstly, you may find yourself asking what exactly is a cross-country model?
Well, it’s a non-registrable model that combines the best elements of both the enduro and the motocross range from KTM. The cross-country models all use the same engine, clutch, engine mapping and exhaust systems as their motocross counterparts.
So what makes the XC models separate from their motocross cousins?
- The 18-inch rear wheel, for extra traction and a more compliant ride experience.
- For longer days on the trails, the XC models are equipped with an extended range fuel tank.
- A beefier stator and wiring loom – which gives them the ability to run a headlight.
- Removable side stand for when you want to motocross
The KTM 300 XC TPI is arguably the most accomplished cross-country racer available. Taking the best aspects of the motocross cousins, the 300 XC adds more power and torque to become an unrivalled cross-country weapon. The KTM 250 SX TPI shares most of its DNA with the KTM 250 XC. Mirroring the same 2-stroke acceleration and top-end scream, the 250 XC TPI included a remarkably lightweight chassis and fuel-injection technology.
