With more than 350,000 units produced, Ducati’s best selling model ever, the Ducati Monster has been announced for 2021. Encapsulating and maintaining the unique character of the beloved model, the new Monster will be the lightest, most compact machine yet.
Originally formulated back in 1993 using a sport engine and a superbike-derived frame, the Monster is built simply, for street fun. Based on the same concepts of the unforgettable Monster 900, the first true sport naked, the new Monster is gifted with a modern, durable and agile chassis.
Ducati engineers started from scratch, extracting the most prominent elements and characteristics of past Monsters.
The design has had a facelift, yet still retains the all to familiar fuel tank, rounded headlights and forefronted engine.
Powered by the Testastretta 11° 937 cc twin cylinder, L-shaped engine, the new Monster compared to the previous 821, increases in displacement, power, torque and surprisingly decreases in weight.
Delivering now 111HP at 9,250 RPM with a maximum torque of 95 Nm, the bike is bound to keep adrenaline junkies satisfied. Thanks to the increase in engine displacement, the torque is improved across all rev ranges, yet still maintain prime torque levels in the low-mid range. Along with a new gearbox and Ducati’s quick shifter (Up/down) as standard, riders will notice shifting to be a lot more refined.
Coming with ABS cornering, traction control and wheelie control, the technology within the new Monster is extensive and can all be adjusted. To match the sport character of the bike, Launch Control is present, allowing lightning-fast take-offs. Although some features are designed strictly for fun, the modernised technology serves a highly practical role, offering considerable safety features for riders.
Equipped with three riding modes, Sport, Urban and Touring, riders can shape the character and aggressiveness of the bike. All these specialised technology features are controlled and easily managed through the handlebar controls and the crystal clear, 4.3 inch colour TFT dashboard.
